Streak

Days in a row on which you hit your own daily goal, with Lume for company.

The streak counts the days in a row on which you earned enough bits. It isn’t tied to any one feature: bits from tasks, habits, timer sessions and calendar entries all count toward the same day.

You set a daily goal, the number of bits a day has to earn (3 by default). When the day’s earnings reach it, the day lights and the streak grows by one. Only earning counts: spending doesn’t take anything off the day, and the streak’s own bonuses don’t count toward it. A new daily goal applies from the next day.

Days begin and end at midnight in your timezone. Synlit detects it from your browser, and you can set it by hand in Settings → Streak.

The streak can pay a bonus at 3, 7, 14 and 30 days, and every 30 days after that. What each one pays is up to you: Milestone bonuses in Settings → Streak has an amount for each of the four, and the last one is also what every later 30 days pays.

All four start at 0, which means no bonus, so the streak pays nothing until you set them. A milestone left at 0 is skipped: nothing is paid, and nothing is added to your balance history.

A missed day breaks the streak unless you have a rest day in stock. You buy rest days with bits ahead of time, at a price you set yourself (20 bits by default), and one is spent automatically to cover a day you missed. How many you can hold at once depends on your plan.

At most two rest days can be used back to back. A third missed day in a row breaks the streak however many you have left.

The sidebar shows your current streak next to Lume. Profile → Overview has the full picture: your current and longest streak, the next milestone that pays a bonus, your rest days with a button to buy more, and a year of days shaded by how many bits each one earned. When a day lights, a short celebration appears and closes on its own.

Lume is the streak’s companion. It grows through six stages as the streak lengthens: dormant, spark (1 day), steady (3), lit (7), bright (14) and beacon (30). It keeps the highest stage it has reached, so a broken streak dims Lume rather than shrinking it.

  1. dormant0 days
  2. spark1 day
  3. steady3 days
  4. lit7 days
  5. bright14 days
  6. beacon30 days

If a character isn’t for you, Settings → Streak has a Companion option: Minimal shows the streak’s state without Lume, and Off hides it from the sidebar.

To stop the streak altogether, switch Streak off in the same place. Then no days are counted, no milestones are paid, and nothing is shown. Switching it back on rebuilds the streak from your balance history, without paying out milestones for the time it was off.
